Pune: Two women among four sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for inducing school girl into prostitution

Pune: Four persons, including two women, have been sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court of Justice KD Shirbhate pronounced the sentence. The two women have been directed to pay a fine of Rs 29,500 each while their accomplices have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 each.
The convicts have been identified as Komal Sunil More alias Kore (26), resident of Kothrud, hailing from Bhor, Reshma Mahesh Gaikwad alias Reshma Surose (29), resident of Uttam Nagar, Sunil Brijlal Kori (29), resident of Kondhwa, hailing from UP, and Jasaram Bhayaram Sutar (57), resident of Sinhagad Road.
The accused women promised the 15-year-old girl to put her in a good educational institution in Pune and brought her from her native. Instead of sending her to school, they induced her into flesh trade. The four accused were arrested after a complaint was lodged.
Public prosecutor Nitin Kondhe argued on behalf of the prosecution during the trial. The prosecution registered statements of nine witnesses. The victim’s witness proved important during the trial. The girl did not have the birth certificate.
Therefore, the prosecution produced school documents and her teacher’s statement to support their argument. It was proved that the girl was minor when the offence took place. It was also proved that accused Komal More lured and abducted the girl. She was sent to various hotels and was induced into prostitution. The court upheld the arguments of the prosecution and pronounced the sentence.
