Pune: Two Youth Arrested for Selling Nylon Manja Near Hadapsar Railway Station; Police Seize Manja Worth ₹1 Lakh
Pune: With Makar Sankranti approaching, the use of banned nylon manja often increases. To curb its sale, Pune Police have intensified surveillance across the city. As part of this drive, the Mundhwa Police detained two youths near Hadapsar Railway Station and seized nylon manja worth ₹1,08,800.
The accused have been identified as:
Ayush Rahul Shinde (20)
Yashraj Vijay Divekar (20)
Police personnel Shivaji Jadhav and Yogesh Raut received a tip-off that two youths would be arriving in the Hadapsar railway area to sell nylon manja. Acting swiftly, a police team intercepted them and recovered multiple reels of nylon manja of the Monofil Gold brand.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Manoj Patil, DCP Dr. Rajkumar Shinde and ACP Anuradha Udumale. Senior Police Inspector Smita Wasnik, Inspector Babasaheb Nikam and their team executed the action. The case is being investigated by PSI Yuvraj Poman.
