Pune: Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray has appealed to Shiv sainiks to build a political tomb of the BJP, the way Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb was built in Maharashtra.

He was addressing the Shiv Sankalp Melava (get-together) of the party in the city in the backdrop of the State Assembly elections. He came down heavily on BJP leader and DyCM Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena (BT) President and CM Eknath Shinde, BJP leader and Union Minister Amit Shah and BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

‘Ahmed Shah’s political heir’

Uddhav Thackeray’s main target was Amit Shah. He said, “Ahmed Shah Abdali’s political heir Amit Shah made some political gestures in Maharashtra. He was a Shah and this is also a Shah. He is teaching us Hindutva. You ate a cake offered by the then Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif. Should we learn Hindutva from you?”

‘I do not challenge a bedbug’

A verbal duel has been going on between Fadnavis and Thackeray for the past some days. Earlier, Thackeray said that either Fadnavis would survive in politics or he would. Reacting to this, Fadnavis said that he never crosses swords with anyone but if he does, he defeats that person. Thackeray replied to this. He said, “Fadnavis said ‘do not cross swords’. But you are not even a patch on me. I do not challenge a bedbug. I am a cultured Maharashtrian while you are a dacoit looting Maharashtra.”

‘We will have to check their accounts’

The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the new Parliament building, started leaking in the very first rain. The contractor who built the new Parliament is also dumping debris in the river in Pune. I have details about this. Papers are leaking. Parliament is leaking. This is a ‘leakage’ government. When I was the Chief Minister, he was a Lieutenant. Then I did not attend to him. Now, I will check their accounts.”

‘Are Chandrababu, Nitish Hindutva leaders?’

Thackeray said, “Ahmed Shah Abadali’s political heir Amit Shah was in Pune to give a speech. He should explain whether he accepts Hindutva preached by the RSS. Are Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar Hindutva leaders?

“Our Hindutva is that of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Its roots are in the teachings of Sadhus and Sants. It is progressive.”

‘In the people’s court’

Thackeray said, “The Shiv Sena is not a fake Janata Party. It holds a torch that burns injustice. Shiv Sena Chief Balasaheb Thackeray handed over the responsibility of the party to me. The people are now the judges and Shiv sainiks, my lawyers, will present arguments before them. The hearing has begun in the people’s court. I am confident that the people will give a judgment in our favour.”
