Pune: Unicorn House hotel owner, manager booked for holding New Year party without permission

Pune: An offence has been registered against Unicorn House hotel owner and its manager for holding a party on December 31 night without the permission of the authorities.

The accused have been identified as Sandip Sahastrabuddhe and Nikhil Ashok Vanjari. Policeman Swapnil Marathe lodged a complaint in this connection.

According to the police, the State Government gave permission to bars, restaurants and hotels to hold parties till 5 am. However, some conditions were set while issuing the permission. However, the terms and conditions were violated at many places in the city. Unicorn House played music on a sound system without permission. Therefore, the offence was registered.

Hotel owner Sandip Sahastrabuddhe and manager Nikhil Vanjari were aware about the rules set by the State Government. But they violated them by using the sound system. After receiving a complaint, the police seized the system and took action at midnight.

Both accused were booked under section 223 3(5) of the BNS and section 33 X R/W 131 of the Maharashtra Police Act. API Dinesh Patil investigated the matter.
