Pune: Vasant More to formally join Shiv Sena (UBT) at Matoshree today
Pune: Former corporator and former MNS City Unit President Vasant More quit the MNS before the Lok Sabha election and joined the VBA. Recently, he decided to go back to the Shiv Sena (UBT). More announced his formal joining of the Shiv Sena (UBT) on July 9 (today), for which he has left the city for Matorshree, Uddhav Thackeray’s residence in Mumbai, along with hundreds of his supporters.
More wanted to contest the Lok Sabha election 2024 from Pune on the MNS ticket. It did not happen. Therefore, he joined the VBA and fought the poll. He was defeated. Now, he will join the Shiv Sena (UBT). His decision to join the party will have a major impact on city’s politics. This is going to increase the strength of the Shiv Sena (UBT).
‘I will follow the party order’
Replying to a media query on the responsibility he has been given by the party, Vasant More said, “I have not been given any responsibility yet. I am joining the party under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut. Hence, I will follow the party order and carry out my responsibility.”
An eye on the assembly polls
It is said that Vasant More is willing to contest the State Assembly poll after facing the humiliating defeat in the Lok Sabha. His decision to join the Shiv Sena (UBT) is a step in that direction.
The assembly polls are a couple of months away. All political parties are reviewing the situation in various segments.
