Pune: Vigilance by Indrani Balan Foundation staff saves life of young woman at Sinhagad Fort

Pune: Staff deployed by the Indrani Balan Foundation and the Punit Balan Group (PBG) for vigilance and cleanliness at Sinhagad Fort saved a young woman from ending her life.
The woman was handed over to the police, who were investigating further.
The Indrani Balan Foundation and the Punit Balan Group have appointed employees for maintaining cleanliness and security at important places such as Sinhagad Fort. On Wednesday (October 9), the employees concerned were keeping vigilance at the fort when the woman arrived there. From her speech and gestures, the employee realised that she was distressed. When they enquired with her, she did not give straight answers and headed towards Kalyan Darwaza.
Therefore, the employees immediately alerted the Chandrarang Charitable Trust and other colleagues and asked them to monitor her movements.
The young woman went to a citadel and was busy speaking on her mobile phone for a long time and was weeping. Apparently, she could have jumped to death at any time.
However, forest officials and the police patil arrived at the spot due to the alert by the Balan Foundation employees. She was detained and the police were investigating further. The woman could be saved due to promptness shown by the Indrani Balan Foundation and the Punit Balan Group employees. Citizens at the fort praised them for their service.
PBG President Punit Balan said, “The presence of mind of our employees deployed at the Sinhagad Fort saved the life of a young woman. Our objective of deploying these employees is succeeding. Work done by our staff is laudable. I praise these employees for saving the woman from taking the extreme step. I salute their alertness and thank them.”
