Pune: Violent Clashes at Kendur Ghat: Robbers Attack Police Team with Machete, DCP, PSI Injured

Pune : In a shocking incident, robbers brutally attacked a police team that had gone to detain robbers at Kendur Ghat in Khed taluka. In this attack, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dr. Shivaji Pawar, and Police Sub-Inspector Prasanna Jarad have been seriously injured, and they are receiving treatment at a private hospital.

This violent attack on police officials took place at midnight at Kendur Ghat under Chakan police station limits. In this attack, DCP Dr. Shivaji Pawar received machete injuries on his chest and back, whereas PSI Prasanna Jarad’s elbow was seriously injured.

During the altercation between the police and the accused, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sachin Bhosale, fired two bullets towards robbers, in which one of the accused received an injury to his leg. The accused whose leg was injured in gunfire has been identified as Sachin Chandar Bhosale. The police have detained Sachin and his brother Mithun Bhosale.

Police informed that both the accused in this case are recidivist criminals and had nine police cases registered against him. Meanwhile, the accused, Sachin Bhosale, is taking treatment at the Sassoon Hospital.

According to the police information, a few days ago, six robbers entered the house of an elderly couple at Bahul village, which comes under the jurisdiction of Chakan police station limits in Khed taluka and robbed them at knifepoint. They looted the gold ornaments and cash from the house. While investigating this case, the police received a tip-off about the robbers’ plan of robbery in Chinchoshi village.

Accordingly, two police teams led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Shivaji Pawar laid a trap in Kendur Ghat and attempted to detain the accused when they were passing from it. While the police officials were detaining the robbers, the accused launched a vicious attack on police officials, assaulting them with machetes and knives.

The attack was so violent that Dr. Shivaji Pawar and Prassana Jarad were seriously injured in it. Further, in the responsive gunfire of Dr. Pawar, the accused Sachin Bhosale was injured. The other police detained Sachin and his brother Mithun Bhosale in this action. However, one of their accomplices managed to successfully escape from there.
