Pune: At the “Vijayi Sankalp” meeting held in Baner, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, several workers and office-bearers from the Sus–Mhalunge area formally resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party and joined the Nationalist Congress Party.

Following the denial of candidature to Amol Balwadkar, his supporters from Sus–Mhalunge decided to switch allegiance to the NCP. Speaking at the induction, workers said that considering Balwadkar’s grassroots work, organisational strength, and continuous engagement with citizens, the decision to deny him a ticket was difficult to understand. Hence, they said, they chose to take a clear stand.

This mass induction is expected to significantly influence the political dynamics of the Sus–Mhalunge region in the coming days.
