Pune: There is a main contest between sitting BJP MLA Sunil Kamble and former State Minister and MVA candidate Ramesh Bagwe in the Pune Cantonment Assembly segment.

Voting will take place on November 20. Only a week remains for the campaign. Candidates are leaving no stone unturned during their poll campaign. Bagwe held a padyatra on Monday (November 11) in the constituency.

In the morning session, the walkathon passed through Sant Kabir Chowk, Quarter Gate, Ghodmala, Pensionwala Masjid, Rasta Peth, Power House Chowk, Samarth Police Station, Somwar Peth Police Line, Sassoon Quarters, Mali Maharaj Math, Barke Ali, Bolaikhana area, Narpatgir Chowk.

In the evening session, the padyatra visited Sachapir Street, Umarshah Dargah, Old Modi Khana, Supriya Society, Sagar Society, Bachchu Adda, Gawali Wada, Tabut Street, Centre Street, P Tarachand, Kamruddin Masjid Mohalla, Babajan Dargah, Bhopale Chowk, MG Road, Shimpi Ali, Rani Laxmibai Udyan. Citizens participated in a large number. Womenfolk welcomed Bagwe by performing the traditional ‘Aukshan’.

Ramesh Bagwe said, “We are committed to fulfil hopes and expectations of residents in this area. We will solve pending issues. The MVA alliance will be victorious here.”
