Pune Weather Update: Mercury Drops to 9°C for Second Day; Will the Cold End Soon?
Pune: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the cold wave in Pune and parts of central Maharashtra will continue for two more days. From Thursday onward, temperatures are expected to rise gradually. On Monday, Pune recorded a minimum temperature of 9.5°C and a maximum of 30.2°C for the second consecutive day. Cold winds from the north are contributing to the temperature drop across several districts.
Over the past four days, cities including Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur and Pune have recorded significantly lower-than-average minimum temperatures. Clear skies during the day are causing strong sunlight, keeping maximum temperatures steady, while nights remain extremely cold.
Suburban areas are experiencing even colder conditions than central Pune. Students, morning walkers and fitness enthusiasts are stepping out with sweaters, mufflers and caps. The cold wave will persist for the next two days; however, temperatures are likely to rise from Friday, with partly cloudy skies expected in the afternoon.
