Pune: Women respond overwhelmingly to Mangalagaur, Paithani programmes; Participants become emotional at the gesture
Pune: A traditional ‘Paithani Khel’ became interesting for women residents of Kothrud amidst laughter, Ukhanas, music, songs and entertaining games.
A Mangalagaur function took them down the memory lane to their parental homes and they became emotional. The atmosphere was charged with positive vibrations. Many women won Paithani sarees and other prizes in a lucky draw held on the occasion.
The Amol Balwadkar Foundation held ‘Khel Rangala Paithanicha’ and a get-together of women at Pandit Farm, Karve Nagar on Saturday (August 17).
Mangalagaur and the lucky draw were held to entertain the women from Kothrud, which they enjoyed by participating in a large number. ‘Sukh Mhanje Nakki Kaay Asta’ TV serial-fame Madhavi Nimkar was the chief guest. RJ Akshay conducted the programme.
Over 2,500 women took part in the function. Women beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana and many women residents from Kothrud expressed happiness and satisfaction over the programme.
Prizes galore in the lucky draw
Many prizes were distributed in the Lucky Draw competition. The main winners and prizes were: Sulabha Gajanan Dhumal – washing machine, Apurva Nitin Tapkir – mixer, Pushpa Ashok Pawar – refrigerator, Sarika Taware – TV set and Shubhangi Pednekar – two-wheeler.
The winners expressed joy and gratitude. All participants got an attractive gift each.
