Pune: Young Resident Doctor at Ruby Hall Clinic Dies by Suicide; Incident Reported Late Sunday Night

Pune: A tragic incident has come to light involving Dr. Shyam Vohra, a 28-year-old young resident doctor at Ruby Hall Clinic, who ended his life by hanging. The incident occurred in his room at the doctors’ hostel affiliated with the hospital.
Dr. Vohra, originally from Bhavnagar, Gujarat, had been working in the Radiology Diagnostics Department for the past year. The doctors’ hostel is located in Damodar Bhavan, near Dhole Patil Chowk, just a short distance from Ruby Hall Clinic. The facility houses approximately 80 to 100 resident doctors.
Dr. Vohra had been living in the hostel along with other doctors. On Sunday night, his room remained locked for an unusually long time. Despite repeated knocks and doorbell rings, there was no response. Eventually, security personnel broke open the door and found him hanging inside.
Before ending his life, Dr. Vohra had reportedly written down the password to his mobile phone on a piece of paper, suggesting that he may have left behind some message or information on the device.
Ruby Hall Clinic has informed Dr. Vohra’s family about the incident. According to Senior Police Inspector Sunil Thopte of Koregaon Park Police Station, the hospital’s security guard made a phone call around midnight to report the suicide. The exact reason behind Dr. Vohra’s extreme step is still under investigation.
