Pune: Young wrestler dies of heart attack while exercising in gym

Pune: A 30-year-old wrestler, who was exercising in a gym, died of a heart attack. He has been identified as Vikram Parkhi.

According to the details, wrestler Parkhi was a resident of Maan in Mulshi taluka. He visited a gym at Maan on Wednesday (December 4). He started feeling uneasy while exercising. Parkhi was immediately shifted to hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad. However, he died before being treated.

Parkhi was an accomplished wrestler. The pugilist made his taluka proud by winning the Kumar Maharashtra Kesri title. He also won medals in the Maharashtra Kesri contest and other national and international competitions.

Parkhi also earned prestigious maces in various contests. People from Mann mourned the loss of the young wrestler. Many renowned pugilists expressed shock over his death. He was the son of former army man Shivajirao Parkhi and the brother of young leader Babasaheb Parkhi.
