Pune: Youth booked in Ambegaon area for raping a woman relative by promising to marry her
Pune: One of the relatives of a woman promised to marry and had physical relations with her. Then he refused to marry and cheated her.
A youth has been booked for rape by the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police after the 35-year-old victim, a resident of Hadapsar, lodged a complaint. The incident took place from January 2020 to March 2024 at the residence of the accused and at a lodge in the city.
A case has been registered against Mayur Janardan Aware (30), a resident of Indapur, under sections 376/2/n of the IPC. According to the police, the accused is related to the victim. He promised to marry the complainant.
He invited her to his home frequently and had physical relations with her. Then he cheated her by refusing to marry her, stated the complaint. The police are investigating further.
