Pune: Some youths have been detained from the Kamala Nehru Hospital. Their photos were posted on social media suspecting them to be Bangladesh nationals. However, they hail from Bihar and were staying in Lohiya Nagar.
DCP Sandeep Singh Gill said, “The youths were visiting the Kamala Nehru Hospital when some citizens saw them and immediately alerted the police. The police detained them and found, after preliminary investigation, that they were neither terror suspects nor Bangladeshis. They came to Pune to collect money for constructing a madrasa and a masjid.”
Meanwhile, their residence is being searched. The matter will be investigated thoroughly, said police officials.
