Rajasthan High Court Permits Medical Treatment for Asaram Bapu; Asaram To Be Treated in Pune
Pune : The Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday granted relief to self-proclaimed controversial spiritual guru Asaram Bapu, who is serving a life sentence for charges of rape of a minor girl, and allowed him to undergo Ayurvedic treatment.
Asaram Bapu will now receive his treatment in Pune. For the last few days, the health condition of Asaram Bapu has been deteriorating, and he is also suffering from a heart problem. Listening to his plea, the bench of judges P.S. Bhati and Munnari Laxman gave this verdict.
Before this, Asaram Bapu also filed a petition in court, demanding 14 days of parole in the month of March. However, the court dismissed that petition at that time.
Notably, the Pune police expressed fear that if Asaram Bapu was kept in the hospital, there might be a law-and-order problem. Considering it, the court ordered him to take treatment in Pune’s jail.
