Pune:

Punekars, who have been grappling with cold since last week, got relief on Monday, November 2, as the minimum temperature in the city has increased from 9 degrees Celsius to 17 degrees Celsius. In the last week, the temperature in the city has decreased considerably due to the cyclone ‘Fengal.’ But now that the cyclone has weakened, the cold has also decreased rapidly.

For the last few days, there was a significant cold snap in the state. But now, the cold has subsided, and the minimum temperature has increased. Due to this, the citizens have got some relief from the cold.

Currently, the ‘Fengal’ cyclone in the Bay of Bengal is impacting the state’s weather, resulting in overcast skies conducive to rainfall. The rise in minimum temperatures has decreased cold across most regions. However, colder conditions persist in North Maharashtra. Today, a further increase in minimum temperatures is expected statewide, accompanied by cloudy conditions.

The Meteorological Department has also forecast light rain in the southern districts of the state. Cloudy weather will likely persist, with temperatures continuing their upward trend. Light rainfall, along with possible lightning, may occur in isolated areas of Sindhudurg in Kokan, Kolhapur, Sangli, and Solapur in Western Maharashtra, and Dharashiv in Marathwada.
