Ruling Maha Yuti’s campaign strategy: To focus on 10 schemes
Mumbai: The Maha Yuti is trying to appease those who were not happy with the ruling alliance during the Lok Sabha elections. Therefore, it rolled out numerous new schemes by offering freebies in the past three months. These schemes will cost the state exchequer around Rs 1.5 lakh crore. These schemes have been implemented immediately.
A spate of new schemes started from July 1 this year. The State Government issued 7,680 government resolutions (GRs) between July 1 and October 10 to launch these plans. They included schemes for young girls, senior citizens, women, farmers and educated unemployed youths.
The Maha Yuti is going to focus on the following 10 schemes during the State Assembly poll campaign:
1) Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana: Rs 50,000 crore will be given to 2.5 crore beneficiaries annually;
2) Mukhyamantri Vayoshree Yojana: Rs 9,000 crore will be spent annually, 18 lakh beneficiaries registered till date;
3) Free Higher Education for Girl Students: Rs 1,800 crore will be paid for 20 lakh girl students’ education fees;
4) Pink e-Rickshaw: 10,000 women from 17 cities will benefit;
5) Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana: Around Rs 6,000-10,000 stipend will be paid to 10 lakh youths annually;
6) Funds for Manachya Palkhis Arriving in Pandharpur: Rs 20,000 each will be given to 344 Palkhis;
7) Crop Insurance in Re 1: Rs 7,000 crore premium is paid by the government, 1.25 crore beneficiary farmers;
8) Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana: Three gas cylinders will be given for free annually to all beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana;
9) Mukhyamantri Tirth Darshan Yojana: Rs 30,000 per head for people aged 60 and above to undertake pilgrimages;
10) Namo Shetkari Mahasamman Nidhi Yojana: The State will give Rs 6,000 crore to 92 lakh farmers annually.
