Safety Concerns Rise Amongst Citizens in Dhankawadi and Ambegaon Budruk Areas as Young Boy Severely Injured in Stray Dog Attack
Pune:
In a startling incident, a five-year-old boy playing in the premises of a society in Chandrangan Phase 5 in the Ambegaon Plateau area was attacked by stray dogs and was seriously injured. The injured boy has been identified as Samarth Sachin Suryavanshi.
As per the primary information, Samarth was attacked by five to six stray dogs while he was playing in the society and sustained severe injuries on his head and face. He is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of a private hospital.
Notably, in the last week itself, a stray dog attacked a girl named Aaradhya Abhay Chavan from the Dalvi Nagar area of Ambegaon Budruk. The next day, another child was bitten by the dog in the area. Due to this, there is a wave of resentment among the citizens about the administration’s negligence towards the increasing number of stray dog attacks in the Dhankawadi and Ambegaon Budruk areas.
The neglect of the concerned department of the municipal corporation towards controlling dog attacks is evidently affecting the lives of Punekars. In this situation, citizens demanded that the administration should take immediate and serious actions to control the attacks of stray dogs, rather than just being a bystander. Locals are demanding that the measures, such as dog sterilization and control, should be effectively taken by the administration.
On this, the Deputy Sarpanch of Ambegaon Budruk, Anil Kondhare, questioned why the administration is silent when the terror of stray dogs is becoming life-threatening day by day. He also asked when the stray dogs will be controlled.
