Sanjay Raut’s problems increase ahead of polls, sentenced to 15-day jail in defamation case
Mumbai: The Shivdi Metropolitan Court has held Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut guilty in a defamation case filed by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya’s wife Medha Somaiya.
Raut has been sentenced to 15 days jail and a fine of Rs 25,000. In 2022, Raut alleged that Medha Somaiya was involved in a toilet-construction scam in Mulund. Medha Somaiya filed the defamation case. Later, the court reserved its verdict.
A hearing was conducted in the case on September 26 and the court found Sanjay Raut guilty. It sentenced him to 15 days jail and directed him to pay a fine of Rs 25,000.
