Shinde Group trying to oust Ajit Pawar from Grand Alliance: Sanjay Raut
Pune: The Grand Alliance is reportedly facing internal conflict, according to Thackeray faction MP Sanjay Raut. Black flags were shown to Ajit Pawar. Also, there was blame game in between Ravindra Chavan, Ramdas Kadam and Praveen Darekar. He has claimed that there are ongoing efforts to oust Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, with the Shinde group playing a key role in this endeavor.
Speaking to reporters, Raut highlighted the growing tensions within the alliance. “Efforts are being made to remove Ajit Pawar because the Shinde group fears they will get fewer seats if he remains,” Raut stated. He further criticized the alliance, calling it a daily battleground rather than a united front. “A minister talking about killing his fellow party leader shows how deep the conflict has become,” he added.
Raut also took aim at the state government’s handling of infrastructure projects, particularly the Mumbai-Goa highway, which he sarcastically referred to as “the road to heaven” due to the alleged corruption by contractors. He accused the Public Works Department (PWD) and urban development projects of being turned into “ATM machines” for the Shinde group, leading to stalled progress.
Looking ahead to the upcoming assembly elections, Raut speculated that the elections might be postponed to December instead of November, accusing the ruling government of manipulating the timeline to avoid potential defeat. He criticized the Ladki Baheen Yojana, suggesting it was designed to influence voters.
“The Election Commission is supposed to be an independent constitutional body,” Raut said. “But if it’s operating under the pressure of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister, where is the democracy in this country?”
Raut’s comments are expected to fuel further debate within the Grand Alliance as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
