Pune: In a startling revelation, it has come to light that doctors at Pune’s Sassoon Hospital have been abandoning destitute patients in deserted areas. This alarming incident has caused an uproar in the city, with social activists demanding swift action. The latest development in the case has seen the suspension of the accused doctor. Social activists Dadasaheb and Ritesh Gaikwad have registered a case at Yerawada Police Station about this shocking behavior. Sassoon Hospital, already in the news for various controversies, now faces further scrutiny over its administration. The hospital’s dean has assured that strict measures are being taken against those involved.
The Dean of Sassoon Hospital stated, “We have taken serious note of this matter. The individuals concerned have been suspended with immediate effect, and an investigation is underway.” According to the information received, Dr. Adi Kumar has been suspended, and authorities are probing whether others are implicated.
The incident came to light when Dadasaheb admitted a patient to Sassoon Hospital, only for the patient to go missing, arousing his suspicions. To uncover the truth, Dadasaheb admitted another patient to the hospital and closely monitored the situation. Dr. Adi Kumar was seen arriving and subsequently leaving with the patient in an auto driven by Ritesh. The patient was abandoned at a deserted location before the doctor and staff left.
Following this, Dadasaheb and Ritesh Gaikwad reported the incident to the police, leading to the suspension of Dr. Adi Kumar by the Sassoon administration. The authorities have assured that a thorough investigation will follow to determine the full extent of the malpractice and identify any additional individuals involved.
