Zekeriya Jacob Mathew (age 23, a resident of Anna Bhau Sathe Nagar Vasahat, Bhakti Shakti Chowk, Nigdi) lodged a complaint in this regard at Nigdi Police Station. Accordingly, police arrested the car driver Kamlesh, alias Ashok Patil (age 23, a resident of Bijli Nagar, Chinchwad), Hemant Chandrakant Mhalaskar, alias Sonya (age 26, a resident of Mhalaskar Wadi, Talegaon Dabhade), and Prathamesh Pushkal Darade (age 22, a resident of Walhekarwadi).

This incident took place at 10:45 p.m. on Sunday night between the KTM showroom in Akurdi and Bijli Nagar in Chinchwad.

According to the police information, Zekeriya and his friend were going on their motorcycle on Sunday night. At that time, a white car coming at high speed from behind hit the handle of their vehicle. They then asked the car driver the reason behind the crash. However, the car driver Kamlesh and his accomplices conspired and abused the complainant and his friend Aniket and assaulted them with hands.

Further, by threatening not to leave the plaintiff and his friend alive, Kamlesh and Hemant ran a car over the complainant with the intention of killing him. Due to which the complainant fell on the bonnet of the car. Astonishingly, Kamlesh continued to drive the car at full speed from Akurdi Railway Station to Sambhaji Chowk and finally stopped the car at Mangal Medical in Bijli Nagar to let the woman inside the car get out.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the plaintiff got down from the bonnet of the car. After that, the accused fled from there. The accused dragged the complainant Zekeriya for about 4 kilometres on the car’s bonnet before stopping the car. Fortunately, the plaintiff was saved as he held tightly to the bonnet of the car. Police Sub-Inspector Shirke is investigating further in this case.
