Ties with MNS in some Assembly seats possible if CM Shinde permits: Devendra Fadnavis
Mumbai: The MNS has decided to contest the State Assembly elections independently. In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, MNS President Raj Thackeray extended unconditional support to the Maha Yuti. He also held poll rallies for their candidates.
The MNS has announced names of 110 candidates in as many seats. Raj Thackeray has announced names of candidates but the party is facing issues at some places. In this backdrop, DyCM Devendra Fadnavis has made an important statement. He said that they could tie up with the MNS in a couple of constituencies with the permission of CM Shinde.
Fadnavis said, “Raj Thackeray is our friend. He supported us unconditionally in the Lok Sabha elections. But he has taken a different stand in the State Assembly polls. He has fielded candidates at many places. Therefore, his joining the Maha Yuti is ruled out. He will not withdraw his candidates too. We are contesting against the MNS in this election.
“We can help him in a couple segments by either tying up with his party or supporting his candidate. For example, in a segment such as Sewri (Shivdi), where CM Shinde has taken a stance. We are three major and some minor parties in the Maha Yuti. We will win in the State Assembly elections and name our CM.”
