Traffic Jams Due to Metro Work Strain Pune Police; Pune Police Ask Metro Department to Complete Work in 3 Months
Pune:
Punekars are facing huge traffic jams as construction of metro work is underway in various parts of the city. This traffic jam is also putting pressure on the police administration.
On this background, a meeting was held between the Pune police administration and the Pune Metro administration on Wednesday, December 4. In this meeting, the Pune police instructed the metro officials to complete the metro work in Pune in the next three months.
At this time, various officials of the transport department, including Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil and Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, and other officials of the metro department were present.
Looking at the increased traffic in Pune city, there is a need to complete the ongoing work by the metro at an accelerated pace, which will help reduce traffic congestion in Pune city. Traffic has been changed from August 29, 2023, for the construction of the Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi Metro line pillar in the Range Hills Kopra area on Ganeshkhind Road. Due to this, there is traffic congestion in this area, causing inconvenience to drivers and residents alike.
Taking these things into consideration, the Pune police asked the metro department to complete the remaining work in the next three months.
