Two more NCP (AP) heavyweights on their way to NCP (SP)

Mumbai: Nominations for the State Assembly elections will be filed till October 29. Now, NCP (SP) President Sharad Pawar has started revealing his cards. He will not keep quiet even after winning over bigwigs from the NCP (AP) in western Maharashtra.
The senior politician is still strategising to breach the NCP (AP) further. Efforts are underway to welcome NCP (AP) President Ajit Pawar’s loyalist Satish Chavan from Marathwada in the NCP (SP) fold.
Chavan met Sharad Pawar at the latter’s Silver Oak residence in Mumbai on Friday (October 18). Chavan recently wrote a letter criticising the Maha Yuti. He wants to contest from the Gangapur Assembly seat in Aurangabad district. He may soon join the NCP (SP).
Sharad Pawar’s move to corner Aditi Tatkare
Sharad Pawar has been making moves to corner big leaders from the NCP (AP), including State Minister Aditi Tatkare. A challenge has been posed before her. Dnyaneshwar Pawar, a leader from Konkan, would join the NCP (SP) in the presence of Sharad Pawar at the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre in Mumbai on Friday.
Dnyaneshwar Pawar is the former Mangaon Council President and is with the Shiv Sena (BT). His entry into the NCP (SP) will strengthen the MVA in Raigad district against Aditi Tatkare.
Dnyaneshwar Pawar earlier met NCP (SP) State President Jayant Patil and NCP (SP) leader Jitendra Awhad. He is likely to be fielded from the Shrivardhan Assembly seat, where Aditi Tatkare will be a candidate. Dnyaneshwar Pawar is an OBC leader and the constituency has 60 pc OBC votes, which will help him win. Since the OBCs in the Shrivardhan segment do not have a leader, they have decided to support Dnyaneshwar Pawar.
NCP (AP) to field Nawab Malik and daughter Sana Malik
Nawab Malik and daughter Sana Malik will contest the State polls on the NCP (AP) ticket. The former will contest from the Shivajinagar-Mankhurd Assembly segment while Sana Malik will fight from the Anushakti Nagar. Sana Malik is likely to file her nominations on October 23 while Nawab Malik may file his papers on October 28.
