Pune: Incidents of vehicle vandalism continue in Pune, with the latest taking place in the jurisdiction of Fursungi Police Station. Several miscreants caused panic by smashing the windows of parked vehicles at Shivshakti Chowk, Aaru Vihar Society.

This is the second such incident in the last six months, raising serious concerns among local residents. The miscreants created havoc late at night, using weapons such as sickles and throwing cement blocks to damage vehicles.

Based on CCTV footage, the police have arrested one youth in connection with the incident. However, other accused are absconding, and it has been confirmed that they are history-sheeters with prior criminal records.

A resident named Shashikant Gaikwad filed a complaint at Fursungi Police Station in the early hours of the morning.

Despite Guardian Minister Ajit Dada Pawar instructing the police to take strict action and ensure such incidents are curbed, these cases are still on the rise. He had earlier emphasized the need to “set an example by punishing the culprits.”

Police have now formed a special team to trace the absconding accused, and further investigation is underway.
