Water Supply in Pune to be Shut Down for Maintenance on Thursday, Low Pressure Supply on Friday
Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that the water supply in the city will be completely shut down on Thursday, August 22, for essential maintenance and repair work at the Parvati Water Treatment Plants and other water centers. Similarly, the water supply will also be affected on Friday, with residents experiencing low water pressure.
According to the PMC’s Water Supply Department, the maintenance will include work on Jackwell, Parvati Tanker Point, Lashkar Water Centre, Vadgaon Water Centre, and both the new and old Holkar Water Centers. Areas dependent on these facilities will see their water supply halted on Thursday.
Additionally, water supply will be disrupted in areas served by the Warje Water Centre, Chandni Chowk tank, Gandhi Bhavan tank, Pancard Club GSR tank, and Warje GSR tank. Maintenance work will also extend to the SNDT MLR and HLR premises and Chaturshringi tanks, leading to a temporary shutoff in these areas as well.
The PMC has urged all citizens to plan accordingly by storing sufficient water in advance and using water sparingly during this period. The maintenance work is expected to last throughout Thursday, with water supply resuming on Friday at reduced pressure in many parts of the city.
Meanwhile, residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions during this maintenance period to minimise inconvenience.
