Pune: Flood-affected women from Pulachi Wadi are upset. They staged an agitation condemning the Chief Minister. They became aggressive and said, “Many people were affected by the floods in the city. They suffered huge losses. But the government helped flood-affected residents from Ekta Nagar only. It neglected us.”

Allegations of ‘step-sisterly’ treatment

The agitating women from Pulachi Wadi said, “We are stepsisters of the Chief Minister. Pulachi Wadi was inundated during the floods. Three young men died due to electrocution during the flood when they were removing an anda-bhurji stall at Pulachi Wadi. But the Chief Minister did not visit our area.

“The Chief Minister passed through our area but did not visit us. We suffered heavy losses as our houses were flooded when we were fast asleep. The Chief Minister launched the Ladki Bahin Yojana (dear sister scheme) but he has neglected us. He treated us like his stepsisters.”

Citizens are upset

The city experienced heavy rains and floods in the past couple of weeks. Hundreds of families living in the low-lying areas were affected. They were shifted temporarily to other places. The Chief Minister visited the city but did not visit Pulachi Wadi.

Therefore, local residents were upset over his neglect of the area. Women from the area agitated against the neglect and condemned the Chief Minister.
