Yashashree Shinde rejected marriage proposal, paid with her life
Navi Mumbai: The police have revealed details in the Yashashree Shinde murder in Uran. The accused has been identified as Dawood Shaikh, who was acquainted with her. He has been arrested. Before killing her, he raped her. He hit her body with stone and cut her private parts.
How Shaikh was arrested
According to the police, a missing person’s complaint was lodged on July 25 by Yashashree’s family members at the Uran Police Station. On July 26, her body was traced. On July 27, a murder case was registered. There were two-three suspects, for whom a search was launched in Navi Mumbai and Karnataka. The team in Karnataka was given some updates and Dawood Shaikh was arrested.
The accused left Uran during Corona pandemic
Shaikh was staying in Uran for many years. He was jailed under the POCSO Act. Later, he left Uran. He was staying in Karnataka during the pandemic and was working as a driver. He changed a couple of jobs. During this period, he was in contact with Yashashree.

According to details, Dawood Shaikh and Yashashree Shinde had a love affair. Yashashree knew him from their school days. Shaikh had proposed to marry her and was insisting that they should shift to Bangalore after marriage. But she rejected his proposal. He came to meet her on July 25. They quarreled and he killed her.
Shaikh booked for murder, atrocity
Dawood Shaikh has been booked for murder and atrocity. He had abused Yashashree before killing her. Shaikh was produced before the court, which sent him to 7-day police custody. He was arrested early on Wednesday. He admitted to the offence and told the police that he killed her because she rejected his marriage proposal.
