Pune: Controversial probationary IAS officer Dr Puja Khedkar might have tried to prove her income low by showing that her parents have separated. Therefore, the Centre has instructed the State Government to file a detailed report on whether they are really divorced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This may increase troubles for Puja Khedkar. She had submitted her non-creamy layer certificate for the UPSC exam. She was selected as an IAS trainee. She was on probation. Meanwhile, it came to the fore that her family\u2019s income is crores of rupees. The con-creamy layer has a certain income criterion. Her father was a Class I officer. Therefore, she could not fall in the low income category. Puja Khedkar had told the UPSC that her parents were separated. Now, questions have been raised about her non-creamy layer certificate..<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, the Centre has sought answers to questions such as: Were her parents really divorced? Were they living together after divorce? Was it just a documentary gimmick to get the IAS post? Hence, the State Government has been asked to submit a report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sources said that the State Government has asked the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to find out the truth. However, the communication has been forwarded to the Pune Police since they are investigating Puja Khedkar\u2019s case.
