The district\u2019s and the city\u2019s annual need of water has been taken care of as the total water storage in all the dams in the district is over 90 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Water storage in Panshet, Temghar and Varasgaon dams is over 90 pc. Water is being released from the Khadakwasla Dam. Hence, its storage is 75 pc. The four dams had 79.66 pc storage last year on this day. Today, it is 89.87 pc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heavy rainfall was reported in July across the State. Ghat sections, along with the district, received plentiful rains. It is still raining in the catchment areas of the dams in the district. This has solved the water crisis in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heavy rainfall predicted across the State<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The heavy rainfall in the past couple of weeks wreaked havoc in the city. Many housing societies and colonies were flooded in the low-lying areas. Normal life was disrupted due to rain. An orange alert was issued in the city on Thursday (August 1). The met office has predicted heavy rains across the State for the next five days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Water storage in the Khadakwasla chain of reservoirs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following is the water storage in the four dams in the Khadakwasla chain of reservoirs: Khadakwasla \u2013 75.90 pc, Panshet \u2013 91.10 pc, Varasgaon \u2013 90.36 pc and Temghar \u2013 92.40 pc. The State recorded 138 pc more rainfall than the average in July.
