6 FSI may be granted to rehabilitate Ekta Nagari flood-affected residents<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pune: Guardian Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday (August 15) appealed to developers not to make any constructions by reclaiming plots near rivers or nullahs. He asked them not to block natural streams. He said that the government was considering granting 6 FSI for the rehabilitation of flood-affected residents of Ekta Nagari on Sinhagad Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pawar was speaking during the inauguration function of the 520-m flyover at Rajaram Bridge Chowk on August 15. MP Medha Kulkarni, MLA Madhuri Misal, MLA Bhimrao Tapkir, State Women\u2019s Commission Chairperson Rupali Chakankar, Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale, Additional Municipal Commissioner Prithviraj BP and Project Officer Yuvraj Deshmukh were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pawar said, \u201cThe population of the city has rapidly grown due to the merger of villages, education and jobs. This has given rise to traffic issues. Metro railway routes are being built to solve traffic issues. We have directed the PMC, PMRDA, PCMC and the Police Department to draw a plan to address the issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere are no corporators to raise civic issues. Civic elections should be held but the issue is sub judice. This has delayed the civic polls.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mahuri Misal said, \u201cThe 2.5-km flyover is being built from Rajaram Bridge to Fun Time Multiplex. A part of it at the Rajaram Bridge Chowk is over. Citizens face hardships during implementation of any project. They always cooperate. The remaining part of the flyover will be completed by March 2025.\u201d Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale delivered the introductory speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pawar said, \u201cAround Rs 1.25 crore will be deposited in women beneficiaries\u2019 bank accounts till August 17 under the Ladki Bahin Yojana. Rs 30 lakh were deposited on Wednesday and Rs 50 lakh are being transferred on the holiday (Thursday, August 15).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Traffic snarls have been frequent on Sinhagad Road for the past couple of months. The flyover at Rajaram Bridge Chowk will save 10-15 minutes of travel time for commuters. Meanwhile, lots of dust has gathered around the median on Sinhagad Road from Dandekar Bridge to Rajaram Bridge. It is causing pollution.
