Meeting of Ganesh mandals held in Baner<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pune: State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil has appealed to Ganesh mandals to celebrate the Ganesh Festival peacefully and enthusiastically with a feeling of social cohesion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also appealed to them to install CCTV cameras on the mandap premises, organise cultural functions and use only traditional musical instruments during the immersion procession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Patil was speaking at the Ganesh mandals\u2019 meeting at Saafa Banquet Hall in Baner, organised jointly by the Chatuhshrungi Police Station and the Pune Municipal Corporation Ward Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar, Joint CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Addl CP Manoj Patil, DCP Himmat Jadhav, DCP Amol Zende, MSEDCL Superintending Engineer Sayajirao Gaikwad, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Avinash Sapkal, Aundh-Baner Ward Office Assistant Municipal Commissioner Girish Dapkekar and senior officials of various departments and mandal workers were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Holding a dialogue with mandal workers, Chandrakant Patil said, \u201cLokmanya Tilak conceptualised the festival for social unity and to help the needy. Therefore, mandals should organise various programmes to spread social awareness and present decorations on women\u2019s safety and national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey should install CCTV cameras on the mandap premises to check untoward incidents. Moreover, they should insist on using traditional musical instruments to avoid noise pollution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He assured the mandals to provide all-possible help to implement these suggestions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CP Kumar appealed to mandal workers to celebrate Ganeshotsav in a peaceful and enthusiastic manner. He said, \u201cThose Ganesh mandals which follow rules will be given permission for five consecutive years. Therefore, those mandals getting permission last year need not apply for fresh ones. But they have to follow rules and regulations while seeking permission. Mandals should take measures for women\u2019s safety. Mandal workers should remain alert to check untoward incidents during the festival.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DCP Jadhav delivered the introductory speech. He said that there are 250 Ganesh mandals within the limits of the Chatuhshrungi Police Station. The police interacted with workers of these mandals.
