A controversy has arisen over alleged changes to the rehabilitation and development rules. Opposition parties are levelling allegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Replying to a question over alleged changes made to the Development Control Regulations (DCR), Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, \u201cAdani Group will have to follow the State Government\u2019s instructions, failing which we will cancel the contract.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it is said that the Municipal Commissioner has the right to change the DCR. But the CEO of the Dharavi project has made such changes. The question was asked to Fadnavis at the India Today Conclave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reply by DyCM Fadnavis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fadnavis said, \u201cThe DCR decided by Uddhav Thackeray is in the DRP. The right to change the DCR is given to the officer of the rank of the Principal Secretary. An officer equal to the Municipal Commissioner\u2019s rank has no power to change the DCR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere are 10 authorities in the city. They prepare their own DCR. But they send them to the government, which gives its approval to them. Only then the changes can come into effect.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018We will cancel the contract\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fadnvis said, \u201cTherefore, I said that it is a narrative that Adani will control\u2026 Adani will control. Why would they control? What is to be done will be done by the government. Adani Group will have to do what the government says.
