In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the Pawar family witnessed an unprecedented division, with one faction led by Ajit Pawar and the other by Sharad Pawar. During this split, several family members, including Ajit Pawar’s brother Shriniwas Pawar and nephew, Yugendra Pawar, chose to stay with Sharad Pawar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At that time, there had been widespread speculation that Yugendra Pawar might contest the upcoming state assembly elections from the Baramati constituency against his own uncle. However, as the election approaches, the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) has yet to announce its candidate for Baramati, fueling intrigue in state political circles regarding Sharad Pawar\u2019s choice to challenge the formidable Ajit Pawar in Baramati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the NCP (SP) is actively conducting interviews for interested candidates across various constituencies, no candidate from the party has yet been interviewed for Baramati. This has raised questions about who will stand against Ajit Pawar in his stronghold. At the same time, there is growing speculation in Baramati that Yugendra Pawar might be Sharad Pawar\u2019s chosen candidate for the seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the information, so far, 1,680 candidates from different regions of Maharashtra\u2014Marathwada, West Maharashtra, Vidarbha, and North Maharashtra\u2014have applied for tickets from Sharad Pawar’s NCP. Of these, interviews for 1,280 aspirants have been completed, with 400 more from Mumbai and the Konkan region scheduled for interviews in Mumbai starting today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amid this process, Yugendra Pawar has conspicuously remained absent from the interviews, adding to the suspense. All eyes are now on Sharad Pawar to see who he will nominate to take on Ajit Pawar in the key Baramati constituency.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
