Mumbai: The Lawrence Bishnoi gang\u2019s involvement is suspected in the murder of former State Minister Ziauddin Abdul Rahim alias Baba Siddique. The gang is active in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan and has been trying to recruit members from Maharashtra too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anmol Bishnoi monitors activities of the gang from the USA and Canada. He tried to terrorise people by orchestrating a shooting on actor Salman Khan\u2019s house. The gang is spreading its network in Maharashtra through social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 53-year-old caterer from Malad (East) was reportedly threatened by the gang. Some Bishnoi gang members were put behind bars. Rs 20 lakh extortion was demanded to release these gangsters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A businessman got a call on July 20 last year from a number beginning with 1855, pretending it to be an international call. A case was registered at the Dindoshi Police Station and it was being probed whether the call was really made by the Bishnoi gang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lawrence Bishnoi was involved in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder. The gang came into the limelight after the murder. Two accused in the killing \u2013 Santosh Jadhav and Saurabh Mahakal \u2013 hailed from Maharashtra. It was suspected then that the gang was expanding its network in the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Experts said that the gang was using social media to recruit new members in the State by cashing in on the curiosity some such youths have about Lawrence Bishnoi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lawrence Bishnoi was born in an affluent family in Punjab. He did his schooling in a convent school in Abohar in Punjab. His parents Lavindar and Sunita were very rich. He has hundreds of acres of ancestral land. His family members are working at responsible positions. His father Lavindar was a policeman who wanted him to become a police officer. But he chose a different path. He set up a students\u2019 union during his college days. This led to establishing a gang. He entered the world of crime during his college days in Chandigarh. Many serious cases were filed against him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Offences have been registered against him in Punjab, Delhi and Rajasthan. He was shifted to the Tihar jail from the Bharatpur prison. Currently, he is lodged in the Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His close aides such as Anmol Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, Rohit Godara monitor gang activities from abroad. Following the killing of singer Sidhu Moose Wala and spreading terror in Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana, the gang targeted Salman Khan and Baba Siddique, said some former and serving police officers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
