A startling incident has come to light, where a person has disguised himself as a monk and stolen ornaments from the Jain temple. In this regard, the Swargate police have successfully arrested the thief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The arrested accused has been identified as Naresh Agarchand Jain (a resident of Girgaon, Mumbai). The police have seized ornaments worth Rs 4.20 lakh, including a stolen gold crown and a gold chain from him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In this regard, Jay Paresh Parekh (a resident of Citywood Society, in front of the Poonawalla Garden) had filed a complaint at Swargate Police Station on November 15. As per the complaint, the gold crown and gold chain of the god from the Jain temple in the plaintiff’s house were stolen. Notably, on the same day, there were other attempts to steal the ornaments of the god took place in around three to four temples in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the occasion of Kartik Purnima, Jain followers perform ceremonial pujas in the Jain temples. Considering the religious sentiments of the people, Senior Police Inspector Yuvraj Nandre immediately formed a special investigation team and ordered it to unravel the crime. Accordingly, technical analysis was done, and CCTV footage of the scene was examined. Police also gathered information from their informants from Pune to Mumbai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, the police constable, Sagar Kekan, received information from his informant that the same kind of thefts were reported in Mumbai, Dombivli, and other areas, and the accused is in his house in Girgaon, Mumbai. Accordingly, the police team went to Mumbai and arrested the accused, Naresh Jain. In the subsequent investigation, Jain confessed to his criminal activities. It is learnt that he has committed crimes due to financial constraints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Police seized stolen ornaments worth Rs 4 lakh 20 thousand from him. Naresh Jain is a repeat offender, and he has multiple complaints registered against him at various police stations in the state.
