Additional Municipal Commissioner Prithviraj BP seeks guidance from State on approved tenders for Fursungi, Uruli Devachi<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pune: A meeting of government-appointed members of merged villages concerned will be held at the nearby Ward Office over general civic issues they face. Moreover, another joint meeting will be organised on January 26 for big projects to be included in the next year\u2019s Civic Budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guidance has been sought from the State Government on approved tenders for Fursungi and Uruli Devachi, which were dropped from the merged villages. Additional Municipal Commissioner Prithviraj BP revealed this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A meeting of the committee of representatives from the 34 merged villages was held at the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Tuesday (December 24). The members from the two dropped villages from the PMC, Uruli Devachi and Fursungi, were also present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members raised issues such as solid waste management, drainage, water supply and street lights, etc. They mainly brought to the notice of civic officials the inadequate water supply to these villages. It was unanimously decided that a meeting of members will be held about issues that can be solved at the ward office level at their nearby ward offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was also decided to hold a meeting on January 26 to make policy decisions and to discuss projects that will be included in the Civic Budget. These villages are within the limits of four-five ward offices. Therefore, current meetings will last till January 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Water supply is a big problem<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Around 323 MLD water is required for the merged villages. Currently, up to 100 MLD water is supplied through the existing schemes and water tankers. An increased water quota has been demanded from the State Water Resources Department. A follow-up is being taken with the State Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Out of the initial 11 merged villages, 53 pc drainages have been laid in nine villages. Funds have been sought under the Amrut Yojana from the State for the remaining 23 villages, said Prithviraj BP.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
