Pune: He used to visit Pune many times to make furniture earlier. He was familiar with the city. This time, he visited Pune, not to make furniture but to sell opium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police got a tip-off about this. They nabbed him and seized opium weighing 1.90 kg amounting to Rs 22 lakh. The accused has been identified as Nathuram Jeevanram Jat (52), resident of Nagaur district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CP Amitesh Kumar and Jt CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma have directed the City Police Force to deal stringently with history-sheeters and drug smugglers to curb narcotic trade and crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per the directive, officers and personnel from the Anti-Narcotics Cell were patrolling in the Kondhwa area. They saw a man suspiciously holding a red bag in his hand standing in front of the Unnati Dham housing society. He got startled after seeing the police. They interrogated him and checked his bag and found the narcotic worth Rs 21,80,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On sustained interrogation, he told the police that he would earlier visit Pune for making furniture. Since he wanted to make a quick buck, he wanted to sell opium in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The operation was conducted under the guidance of CP Amitesh Kumar, Jt CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Addl CP Shailesh Balkawade, DCP Nikhil Pingale and ACP Ganesh Ingale. Anti-Narcotics Cell\u2019s Sr PI Ulhas Kadam, API Aniket Pote, police personnel Dayanand Telange Patil, Sandeep Shirke, Vishal Dalvi, Sachin Malwe, Pravin Uttekar, Sandesh Kakade, Dattaram Jadhav, Dnyaneshwar Ghorpade and Yogesh Mohite took part in the operation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
