Govind Wakde of News 18 elected State President of Maharashtra Rajya Patrakar Sangh<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pune: All India Journalists Association President Ashok Wankhede has said that journalists should not succumb to pressure from politicians while doing justice to a story. If they are working without a feeling of revenge, no one can stop them from telling the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wankhede was speaking during the election of the office-bearers of the Maharashtra Rajya Patrakar Sangh, a state journalists\u2019 body. He felicitated the newly elected Sangh State President and other office-bearers. Senior Journalist and Political Analyst Hemant Desai was present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Desai said, \u201cJournalists should work in the interest of common people. The Media should present a true picture of rural areas. Currently, they are competing to show rubbish, which should stop. Journalists should take an outspoken stance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Govind Wakde declared that the Sangh would conduct district-wise surveys of all government schemes in the State and prepare reports. The Sangh would become a link between the people and the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that the Sangh would prioritise development and security of journalists from urban and rural areas. It would be committed to solve issues faced by women journalists. Policy decisions would be taken for scribes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The office-bearers were elected unopposed. All district presidents, city presidents and all Sangh office-bearers were present. The election was conducted in the presence of Sangh Founder Sanjay Bhokare, Randhir Kamble, Vishwas Arote and Maharashtra Region President Nitin Shinde. Various district correspondents and members of the fraternity were present in a large number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senior Journalist Sachin Chapalgaonkar was appointed as the Head of Western Maharashtra and Navnath Kaple as the Head of Konkan area of the Action Committee Against Attacks on Journalists, a main department of the Sangh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Executive bodies in various parts of the State were announced. A discussion was held on challenges and problems faced by journalists. Vishwas Arote presented a review of the work done by the Sangh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Digital Media President Siddharth Bhokare, Maharashtra Region President Nitin Shinde, Contact Head Vaibhav Swami, Joint Head Parag Kunkulol, Pune District President Sanjay Jagdale, Publicity Head Navnath Jadhav, Vice-President Ashok Dedhe, Atul Kshirsagar, Jamid Sayyad, Mahadev Masal, Belaji Patre, Sunil Benke and other noted scribes were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The state government will conduct a district-wise survey to assess the reach and impact of various government schemes, ensuring transparency and accountability. The findings of this survey will be made public, allowing citizens to stay informed about the utilisation of funds and the effectiveness of development initiatives, announced Govind Wakde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government is taking strategic decisions with a citizen-centric approach to evaluate whether welfare schemes are reaching their intended beneficiaries. The survey will focus on identifying the real impact of these schemes on the state’s development, employment generation, and economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting the importance of public awareness, Wakde emphasised that citizens should know about crores of rupees that are allocated for these schemes and how these funds are being utilised.
