However, the State Home Department has now cancelled his preventive detention and Naik has walked out of jail within a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nandu Naik was undertaking illegal activities such as gambling in the Shukrawar Peth area within the Khadak Police Station limits. As many as 63 offences have been registered against him at the Khadak Police Station. Of them 12 offences related to gambling from 2021. The Pune Police raided his gambling den from time to time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Naik did not mend his ways. Therefore, Sr PI Shashikant Chavan sent a proposal of his preventive detention to the Police Commissionerate. After studying the proposal thoroughly, Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar directed preventive detention of Naik at the Nagpur Central Prison. Thus, he was sent to the Nagpur jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MCOCA was invoked against the Bandu Andekar gang a few years ago. MCOCA action was also taken against Nandu Naik as he was funding the Andekar gang. Later, Naik got bail in the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MPDA rules<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Person\/persons, against whom MPDA action has been taken, can approach the State Government or the Supreme Court<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*After seeking relief at these levels, it is examined whether action is taken<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Later, the State Government or the SC decides to retain or cancel the
