This will increase property rates and will also increase the burden on customers. The State Government would earn Rs 56,000 crore on March 31, at the end of FY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RR rates were increased in September 2020 instead of April 2020 due to the pandemic. The RR rates remained unchanged in 2021-22. The pandemic crippled the economic condition of the State due to the two years of pandemic. In 2022-23, an average 5 pc increase was affected in the RR rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later, the RR rates remained unchanged for subsequent two years. However, the State Government has decided to hike the RR rates by 3.89 pc in 2025-26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hike is average 6 pc within the limits of all civic bodies, except Mumbai. It is 3.39 pc in Mumbai, 4.16 pc in Pune and 7.72 pc in Thane. Before announcing the new RR rates, each District Collector held a meeting with local representatives and sent their reports to the government. Moreover, the rates have been fixed after checking property deals, advertisements released by realtors, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that suggestions and objections would be invited from citizens if the government decided to increase the rates. However, it was feared that the implementation of the new RR rates would be delayed if such an exercise was conducted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspector General of Registration and Stamps Ravindra Binwade said, \u201cThe Ready Reckoner rates were stable for three years. Details of document registrations from 2022 to 2024 were sought before increasing the rates this year. The hike was proposed after considering the average.
