Mumbai: Tensions between Marathi and non-Marathi communities are flaring up once again in Mumbai, as a shocking incident from Ghatkopar has come to light. A Marathi family was reportedly humiliated in a housing society for consuming non-vegetarian food. Following the incident, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers promptly arrived at the spot and confronted the accused in typical MNS fashion. The video of the confrontation is now going viral on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, the incident took place in a multilingual housing society in Ghatkopar, where the majority of residents belong to Jain, Gujarati, and Marwari communities, with only four Marathi families living there. A man named Shah allegedly made derogatory and communal remarks against a Marathi family, saying, \u201cMarathi people are dirty, you eat fish and meat,\u201d referring to their non-vegetarian lifestyle. This left the family mentally distressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon learning about the incident, MNS Kamgar Sena Vice President Raj Parte led a group of workers to the society. They strongly condemned the insult directed at Marathi families and called out the discriminatory behavior of the residents. The accused, Shah, did not appear during the confrontation, while other residents tried to downplay the situation, claiming there was no discrimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raj Parte firmly stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTell your Shah to watch his words. If a Marathi person is doing something wrong, point it out clearly. But if you’re trying to dominate just because there are only four Marathi families, that will not be tolerated. If you find people from Maharashtra dirty, why are you living here?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
