Pune\/Jejuri: In the Jarjarjun area of Purandar taluka, an illegal liquor seller created panic after he threatened the village Sarpanch with a pistol. The accused, identified as Prashant Ramesh Rane, was arrested by Jejuri police and produced before the court. After being remanded to custody, he was shifted to Yerawada Jail, said API Deepak Wakchaure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Sarpanch Somnath Dattatray Kanse\u2019s complaint, the incident occurred on the morning of the 16th during a public event. Angered by the closure of his illegal liquor business, Rane allegedly brandished an illegal firearm, abused the Sarpanch, and threatened to kill him. He also reportedly demanded \u20b92 lakh. After the complaint, police acted swiftly and arrested him. The Saswad court had initially granted four days of police custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
