Ajit Pawar to join Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi procession

Mumbai: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will participate in the Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi procession from Baramati to Katewadi by foot.

Pawar announced this during the State Legislature session on Friday (July 5). The Palkhi procession proceeds to Sansar after taking an overnight halt in Baramati. Ajit Pawar welcomed the procession last year in Baramati. He will walk along with warkaris from Baramati to Katewadi this year. He said that he felt like participating in the walkathon this year.

The Shri Sant Tukaram Palkhi Sohala will stay overnight in Baramati on Saturday (July 6). It will proceed further early in the morning on Sunday (July 7) via Pimpli to Katewadi. Pawar said that he would walk the distance from Baramati to Katewadi. The Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi procession is welcomed by rolling out ‘Dhotar’, the traditional men’s apparel at Katewadi. The procession will take the afternoon rest at Katewadi and proceed to Sansar.
