Srinagar, October 20: The Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti in association with Punit Balan Group celebrated Dussehra with great enthusiasm and grandeur at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, Srinagar, in an event that brought together people from all walks of life, including Kashmiri Pandits, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and members of different political parties and sections of society.

The celebration, marking the victory of good over evil, emerged as a powerful expression of Kashmir’s enduring traditions of mutual respect, communal harmony and peaceful coexistence. The enthusiastic participation of people cutting across religious, cultural and political lines reaffirmed that the Valley’s shared heritage and bonds of humanity remain stronger than divisions.

The event was made possible through the dedicated efforts and logistical support of Mr. Puneet Balan, whose valuable contribution played an important role in ensuring the successful organisation of the celebrations on such a grand scale.

The Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the District Administration Srinagar, Srinagar Police and the entire police administration, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) for providing the venue and staff, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Traffic Police, Fire and Emergency Services, and all other line departments and personnel who extended their cooperation and support.

The Samiti also thanked the volunteers, participants and every individual who contributed to making the celebration a memorable occasion.

The grand celebration was not merely a religious festival but a reaffirmation of Kashmir’s pluralistic ethos, where people of different faiths can come together to celebrate one another’s traditions with dignity and warmth. The message of Dussehra, that truth and goodness ultimately triumph over evil, resonated beyond religious boundaries, reminding everyone of the importance of compassion, mutual respect and unity.

The Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti reiterated that such collective celebrations are essential to strengthening inter-community bonds and nurturing an atmosphere in which Kashmir’s diverse religious and cultural traditions can flourish together.

The Samiti extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make this celebration a resounding success, reinforcing the message that Kashmir belongs to all its people and that its future is best served by harmony, coexistence and shared humanity.

“Seeing citizens from different religions and communities come together through the celebration of Dussehra in Kashmir is a matter of great joy and pride. Festivals are not merely symbols of religious traditions; they are also a powerful medium for bringing people together and strengthening mutual trust within society.

It is a matter of satisfaction to have been able to support such initiatives that preserve Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage, social harmony and spirit of brotherhood. Though our religions, languages and cultures may differ, the thread of humanity binds us all together.

Such festivals play a significant role in building a society that embraces unity in diversity and respects one another. It is my hope that the spirit of peace, brotherhood and coexistence grows stronger in Kashmir.”
