One news reporter asked Sharad Pawar about the reason behind Sunetra Pawar’s defeat in the Lok Sabha election in Baramati, despite Ajit Pawar putting all his energy into Baramati. At this time, Sharad Pawar playfully responded, “This is Baramati.” He said that people associate with you if you are in constant touch with them.

Sharad Pawar said, “If anyone comes to meet me in Baramati, I have to ask them about their father’s name. Then only I could understand from which village and from which house that person is. For the last so many years, I have kept this dialogue with two generations in the city. Because of this connection, people stood behind Supriya in the election and gave a lead of more than 45 thousand from Baramati.”

At this time, he also took a dig at Ajit Pawar. He said, “That dialogue has been lost recently in Baramati. Therefore, no matter how much people claim development works in the constituency, people always stand behind those who are willing to listen to them.”

Meanwhile, he also said that though Ajit Pawar chose a different path in politics, he was still a part of the family. Having said that, Sharad Pawar also said that if Ajit Pawar wants to rejoin that party, he needs to ask the party members because they have suffered a lot after the rift in the party. Therefore, their opinions are very important on this matter.
