Pune Festival Organises Short Film Competition ! “Heritage of History… The Mirror of Pune!”
Pune is not merely a city of education, culture and the arts; it is also a living mirror of its rich history and glorious cultural heritage. The city’s countless stories, eminent personalities, historic landmarks, significant events, traditions and cultural treasures continue to remain deeply connected with its identity and speak to us even today.
To bring this rich heritage to the new generation through the powerful medium of audio-visual storytelling, the Pune Festival is organising a short film competition based on the theme “Heritage of History… The Mirror of Pune!”
The conceptualised and organized by veteran actor Rahul Solapurkar, while Sunil Naik is the Director of the competition. They announced the details at a press conference. Pune Festival President Krishnakumar Goel, General Secretary and Chief Cultural Programme Coordinator Dr. Satish Desai, and Trustee Mohan Tillu were also present on the occasion.
Competition Concept – Topics for the competition will be provided by the organisers. Participants will have to create a 5 to 10-minute short film based on the topic assigned to them. The competition will give filmmakers an opportunity to explore Pune’s history, culture, traditions, personalities and significant events through a creative and cinematic lens. Participants may use compelling storytelling, quality filming, creative cinematography, effective voice-over, background music, dramatic visualisation and imaginative cinematic techniques as required.

It offers a unique opportunity for short-film makers to gain wider recognition and create a distinct identity through their work. Let the story of Pune’s history unfold through your camera. Awards – The competition will have First, Second and Third Prizes, comprising cash awards, trophies and certificates. Special awards will also be presented in categories such as Direction, Cinematography, Sound Recording, etc.
