Pune: City Stunned by the Spree of Thefts: Four Incidents of Theft Reported in a Single Day
Pune: Thieves are rampant in the city, and every day thieves are stealing goods worth lakhs of rupees in different parts of the city. On Friday (19th), four different cases were registered against the thieves in connection with the theft of goods in the city. Surprisingly, in one of these incidents, Son himself stole things from the father’s house.
As per a complaint filed by Mirtaj Ahmed Nisar Nabi Bagli (age 80), a resident of Kondhwa, his son, Umer Mirtaj Bagli, and daughter-in-law, Tabassum Umer Bagli, ransacked his house between July 13 and 16. Both broke the lock and stole cash and jewellery worth Rs 3,50,000 from the house. Astonishingly, when the plaintiff confronted the incident with his son, the accused, Umer Bagli, pushed his father out of the house and threatened him with being implicated in a false case. In this regard, the plaintiff filed a complaint at Khadak Police Station.
In another case, Lakshmi Subhash Dhekane (age 67), a resident of Dhanalakshmi Society in Somnathnagar, Vadgaon Sheri, went to stay with her daughter-in-law between July 10 and July 19. Taking advantage of the situation, thieves broke into her house and stole valuables worth Rs. 1,15,000 from the cupboard, including gold ornaments weighing 14 grams and cash. In this case, Dhekane filed a complaint at Chandannagar police station.
Yesterday at midnight, two thieves targeted a medical shop on the Lohgaon-Wagholi road and stole Rs 4,500 from the shop. This medical shop belongs to Prakash Ruparam Chaudhary (age 25), a resident of Wagholi. In this case, Lonikand promptly filed a complaint and initiated an investigation with the help of CCTV cameras. Accordingly, police successfully detained one of the accused, Amit Kumar Abdesh. Meanwhile, the second accused, Ganesh Sharma, is at large, and police are actively searching for him.
In the last case, unknown thieves broke the lock of the company’s office in Lullanagar between July 18 and 19 and stole Rs 62,000 worth of items such as 5 mobile phones, 1 silver idol, two silver lamps, a DVR, and an internet distributor from the table drawer of the company. In this matter, the owner of the company, Manish Champak Sanghvi, lodged a complaint at Kondhwa police station. Police Sub-Inspector Patil is conducting further investigation into the case.
